Jim Haiz

Jim was a very close friend of my mothers. He was very supportive of Ellie’s Hats and was always looking for ways to help. He even had the Family Magazine send an email out to their subscribers to let them know about Ellie’s Hats. You might think that this would be a odd place to be posting an obituary but I am think that after you have read it you will see why I posted it.

Jim Haiz

James W. Haiz, age 76, of Cicero Illinois, passed away peacefully with family by his side on June 26, 2014. James was the only child of Anne and James “Mud” Haiz. He is survived by his children; Patrick, Brian, Kevin and Amie Haiz. He is also survived by his long-time partner Bernice Coakley. He deeply loved his grandchildren who survive him; Sylvie Wilson, Isabella Haiz, Gabriella Haiz, Ozzie Wilson and Jackson Haiz. James was proud of his Italian heritage and was a well-known sports enthusiast. He played baseball for Morton High School and Lake Forest College. He also greatly enjoyed his weekly spinning class at the YMCA. James prided himself on being a good salesman and believed he could sell anybody anything. James was a big personality who lived life fully. He enjoyed many strong relationships and will be missed greatly by not only his family but numerous long-time friends and colleagues as well. In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations be made in memory of James to Ellie’s Hats (ellieshats.org) or charity of choice.
