Kenny was diagnosed with leukemia in October 2017. After his diagnosis his uncle gave him a Camaro. We learned Kenny wanted to do things to his Camaro for his “Make A Wish”. Ellie’s Hats decided to help make Kenny’s wish come true! Our friends at Casey’s Automotive were eager to help, and helped Kenny’s wish come true. Many other businesses have helped us with this project for Kenny!
Our friends at Casey’s Automotive are helping another local family with a child battling cancer. The families really appreciate these vouchers and it is just one less thing for them to have to worry about. Ellie’s Hats and Casey’s partner and split the cost of the vouchers.

Todd is the owner of Rock Water Farm which is a local landscape company in northern Virginia. I had put up a post on our community Facebook page to see if a local company would help mow the yard for a family that had a daughter battling cancer. Todd wanted to help and his crew started mowing today and will continue to mow throughout the remainder of the grass growing season. For this family having a Rock Water take care of the chore of mowing their yard it is one less thing that they have to worry about.
I recently met with the Virginia DECA sponsor and officers, from across the different regions in the state, to discuss how Virginia DECA will work with Ellie’s Hats as their Community Service Project/ Charity for this year. The officers were very excited and already had ideas of things that can be done to help spread awareness about childhood cancer and collect hats for children that are battling cancer. I am looking forward to posting about the activities that the DECA Organizations in the high schools are doing throughout the year.
