Sydney set out to collect a hat from every state in the country, and did in 4 day’s. Sydney met me at a fundraiser at our local Ruby Tuesday’s  and decided that she wanted to wanted to help. That evening her friends from her Church Youth Group were coming over and she enlisted their help and went out a few days later and bought hats to be donated. Sydney was not done yet. She then thought that it would be a neat thing if she could get a hat from every state and that turned into the Sydney Hat Drive Across America. With the help of friends, Family, Ellie’s Hats and the power of Facebook she was able to hear from at least one person in every state. The slideshow below shows how this one young lady was able to accomplish so much in such a short amount of time. By the way she is planning more ways to help Ellie’s Hats donate hats to the children that are battling cancer. For her efforts she  received the J. Michael Lunsford Community Service Award today for her work with Ellie’s Hats. Sydney is still receiving hats from her Hat Drive Across America campaign – to date, over 145 hats have been received!
